How Much Does Managed IT Cost in New Braunfels, TX? (2026 Pricing Guide)

Managed IT services for New Braunfels businesses typically cost $125 to $200 per user per month fully managed in 2026, based on the San Antonio row of Uprite’s Texas MSP Pricing Index, while co-managed plans run $60 to $130. Most offices land between $125 and $175. Our own published plans start at $91 per user.

I run the technical side of Uprite as CTO, which means most of my week goes to networks, security tooling, and backup jobs rather than spreadsheets. Pricing still crosses my desk, because every quote is really a list of systems somebody has to keep alive. Our page on managed IT services in New Braunfels describes the service itself. This guide covers the invoice.

The honest headline is that New Braunfels doesn’t have an IT rate of its own. It shares a labor market with San Antonio, so the number on a quote comes from the same technicians and the same wages. What does move the number here is local, and I wanted it measured rather than guessed. Offices are small. Payrolls swell every summer. And the drive from a San Antonio bench runs about 37 minutes to downtown and closer to 52 for Canyon Lake. I pulled the federal data on each of those. Here is what it shows.

What Does Managed IT Cost in New Braunfels in 2026?

Under a managed IT agreement, a company hands its help desk, laptops, network, backups, and security to an outside firm and pays a recurring fee that is nearly always counted per user. In New Braunfels that per-user fee follows San Antonio pricing, because the providers bidding here hire from the same metro and drive the same stretch of I-35.

The metro band is taken from our San Antonio managed IT cost guide, and the statewide spread from our Texas MSP Pricing Index. We built both from proposals we write and review. Neither is a survey. The statewide range reaches $225 while the San Antonio row stops at $200, so if a New Braunfels quote leans on that statewide ceiling, ask what in your environment justifies it. Make them show the work.

Why New Braunfels Pays San Antonio Rates

The Bureau of Labor Statistics measures IT pay by metropolitan area, and the metro is literally named San Antonio-New Braunfels. A help desk technician hired in Garden Ridge and one hired near the Pearl come out of the same pool. Same pool, same pay. In May 2025 that pool held 4,710 computer user support specialists earning a mean of $60,520 a year, according to the BLS Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics series for the metro. That figure is the average for the whole 8-county metro, and it’s the same number a provider in Schertz, Seguin, or downtown San Antonio uses when it works out what a technician actually costs per hour of billable time.

Comal County barely has an IT workforce of its own to bid up. Computer systems design firms there averaged 767 jobs across 122 locations in 2025, down from 827 a year earlier, per the BLS Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages. So the people who fix New Braunfels networks mostly live and work down the interstate. The bench sits in Bexar. The city also spills across the county line into Guadalupe County. Nobody prices that line.

The 12-Seat Line in a County of Small Offices

Comal County had 4,951 business locations with paid staff in 2023, and 73.9% of them employed fewer than 10 people. Guadalupe came in at 72.7%. Bexar County, the urban core of the metro, sat at 68.6%. Professional offices skew smaller still.

Those shares come from the Census Bureau’s 2023 County Business Patterns file, all industries. Among Comal’s 558 professional, scientific, and technical offices, 88.5% had fewer than 10 people, against 80.3% in Bexar. Think accountants, engineers, title companies, and small law practices. Most are tiny.

That matters because our plans split at 12 people. IT Essentials, the $91 remote plan, is built for teams under 12. IT Pro at $110 is listed for teams of 12 or more outside the Houston and San Antonio areas, and New Braunfels sits inside the San Antonio metro 28 miles up the highway, so we confirm which side of that line an address falls on when we write the quote rather than assume it. Past 12, the other choices are Fully Managed IT at $138 or, for a company that employs its own IT staff, co-managed support starting at $100.

Here’s what the step looks like on paper. Take an office of 11 on IT Essentials. Its bill is $1,001 a month, licensing aside. At 12 people it’s $1,320 on IT Pro, if the address qualifies, or $1,656 on Fully Managed. That step costs $319 or $655. The bigger plan also adds round-the-clock support and hands-on infrastructure work at your site, so the extra money buys something. Ask before the 12th hire.

Summer Seats and the Per-User Bill

Most pricing guides skip this. New Braunfels payrolls breathe with the tourist season, and per-user pricing counts heads. Private employment in Comal County rose from 65,993 in January 2025 to 70,659 in July, a 7.1% jump in 6 months, then slid back to 68,285 by September. Bexar County barely moved. It rose 0.7% over the same months.

Bar chart of private employment change from January to July 2025, Comal County arts and recreation up 191.1%, hotels and lodging up 90.3%, leisure and hospitality up 37.7%, all private jobs up 7.1%, against Bexar County leisure and hospitality up 5.3% and all private jobs up 0.7%

Tourism drives the swing. Leisure and hospitality jobs in Comal went from 10,075 in January to 13,871 in July, up 37.7%. Arts, entertainment, and recreation nearly tripled, from 1,105 to 3,217. Hotels and other lodging went from 784 to 1,492. Those monthly counts come from the same QCEW program, and they line up with the river outfitters and the water parks. Call it river season.

Now price that per user. Picture a 9-person office that adds 6 seasonal staff with their own logins each June. That’s 15 seats from June to August, and 15 is past the 12-seat line. On published rates the office goes from $819 a month on IT Essentials to $2,070 on Fully Managed for the summer. Nobody budgets for that. Each of those accounts needs a license, a password reset policy, multifactor sign-in, and someone who turns it off when the job ends, and every one of those steps is labor that a provider either prices into the seat or bills separately.

There are better options. Not every seasonal worker needs a full managed seat. A time clock and a shared kiosk account may cover some of them, and our pricing FAQ says plans can sometimes be mixed by department or by type of user. Microsoft lists Business Basic at $7 a user, which covers email and Teams for staff who need nothing more. Never skip offboarding, though. A summer login still active in October is exactly the kind of forgotten account an attacker goes looking for.

So ask any provider 3 things. How fast can seats come off the bill? Is there a seat minimum? And who disables the account on a seasonal worker’s last day?

What the Drive Up I-35 Adds

On-site work costs a provider money even when the invoice never shows it. I ran each route through the OSRM routing engine, which works on OpenStreetMap road data, starting at our San Antonio office at 11831 Radium Street and ending at the internal point the Census Bureau assigns to each town. Treat them as empty-road times. Weekday traffic around the 1604 interchange will stretch them, and none of it describes how fast we respond.

Marion25.940$94
McQueeney35.549$121
Canyon Lake33.452$123
Seguin41.953$138

That final column estimates what the trip costs the provider. Uprite doesn’t bill it. A technician’s time is valued at the metro mean for user support specialists, then scaled by 1.43, the ratio of total compensation to wages in the BLS Employer Costs for Employee Compensation figures for June 2026, which works out to about $41.57 an hour. Miles are charged at 76 cents each, the IRS standard rate for business driving since July 1, 2026. A provider that sends a technician up I-35 twice a month to a downtown New Braunfels office is spending close to 2.5 hours of paid time and about 114 miles on the road, and that cost lands somewhere in the price whether or not the proposal lists it.

Bar chart of drive cost per seat per month at 2 on-site visits from the Uprite San Antonio office, New Braunfels 25 seats $7.56, Schertz 12 seats $11.37, Bulverde 8 seats $15.07, New Braunfels 8 seats $23.61, Canyon Lake 6 seats $40.99, and Seguin 4 seats $68.84

Spread 2 visits a month across the staff and the effect per seat is easy to see. For a 25-person company in New Braunfels it’s about $7.56 a seat. For an 8-person office in the same building it’s $23.61. A 6-person shop at Canyon Lake carries about $41, and a 4-person office in Seguin closer to $69. Same drive, fewer seats. That’s why small offices far from a provider’s bench get steered toward remote plans, and why the plan that includes on-site work starts higher. On our side, on-site infrastructure work is part of the Fully Managed IT rate, and either remote plan can have on-site visits added when a client needs them.

Managed IT or an In-House Hire in Comal County?

Once a company passes 30 or 40 people, someone always asks whether it should just hire. Fair question. The answer depends on scale. A San Antonio-area user support specialist at the $60,520 mean costs about $86,465 a year once benefits and payroll taxes are loaded at the same 1.43 ratio. That’s $7,205 a month, the same money as Fully Managed IT for 52 users at $138.

Senior roles cost more. A systems administrator at the metro mean of $97,370 runs about $139,113 loaded, and an IT manager at $166,630 runs about $238,065. One hire also gets sick, takes vacation, and can’t be a firewall engineer and a help desk at 2 in the morning. Coverage is the real gap. For companies that already have an IT lead, co-managed support at $100 a user is usually the cheaper answer than a second hire, because the provider supplies the after-hours coverage, the security monitoring, and the backup testing that 1 in-house person can’t realistically carry alone. Our breakdown of in-house versus outsourced IT in San Antonio goes deeper on where that crossover sits.

4 Sample New Braunfels IT Budgets

Each office below is made up. I priced it at our published starting rates, then added the $22 Microsoft 365 Business Premium license for every person. Scope changes real quotes.

Example officePlan usedMonthly managed ITPlus Business Premium
6-person real estate office in GrueneIT Essentials at $91, remote$546$678
18-person medical clinic near CreeksideFully Managed at $138$2,484$2,880
25-person distributor with its own IT leadCo-Managed at $100$2,500$3,050
40-person manufacturer off I-35Fully Managed at $138$5,520$6,400

Start with the clinic. Inside the San Antonio band its 18 seats would run $2,250 to $3,150 a month before licensing, and $3,600 at the $200 ceiling. Our rate lands it at $2,484, near the bottom of that range.

The manufacturer is different. Owners try to save money there, and they shouldn’t. If its address qualified for IT Pro, 40 seats would cost $4,400 instead of $5,520, a $1,120 monthly difference. IT Pro is remote only. A plant with switches on the floor, a server in a back room, and machine controllers on the network will need a technician on site, and paying for those visits one at a time usually eats the savings within a few months.

What Pushes a New Braunfels Quote Toward $200

The top of the San Antonio band is usually driven by a short list of things.

  • Health records. Health care and social assistance is 12.0% of Comal’s private jobs, and a clinic brings HIPAA work into the contract, from the security risk analysis to audit logs and stricter access controls.
  • Production floors. Manufacturing is 22.5% of private employment in Guadalupe County, against 5.4% in Bexar, and plants carry controllers that can’t be patched on a normal schedule.
  • Peak weeks. A busy season leaves no downtime window, which pushes maintenance into after-hours work that costs more.
  • Second sites. That might be a New Braunfels office paired with one in San Antonio, or 2 sites on opposite sides of the county line.

Growth sits behind most of those. Comal County grew from 161,449 people at the 2020 census base to 209,166 in the Census Bureau’s 2025 estimate, a 29.6% gain, according to the Census county population estimates. Bexar grew 7.5%. In 2025 alone Comal added 7,680 residents, and 7,427 of them moved in from elsewhere in the country rather than being born here. New residents mean new hires, and new hires mean onboarding tickets, laptops, and accounts. Onboarding is constant here. Ask what onboarding a new employee costs before you sign, because a company in a county that added 7,680 people in a single year is going to use that service far more often than a quote assumes.

Questions to Ask Before You Sign

Bring these to every proposal meeting. Get the answers in writing.

  1. How are seasonal and part-time users counted?
  2. How quickly can seats come off the bill, and is there a minimum?
  3. Which plan applies to my address once we reach 12 people?
  4. Are on-site visits in the monthly fee, billed per visit, or billed by the hour?
  5. Is there a travel charge to New Braunfels, Canyon Lake, or Seguin?
  6. Do Microsoft licenses come inside the rate or on a separate line?
  7. How much do you charge to set up a new employee or a new office?
  8. What sits outside the contract?
  9. What hourly rate applies to that work?

Our own terms are simple. Every price on our published pricing page is a starting rate, and licenses are billed on top. On-site infrastructure work comes with Fully Managed IT. Your first-year rate can’t go up, and if we fall short in the first 120 days, you can leave the contract. If you’re comparing providers rather than plans, our ranking of the best managed IT services in New Braunfels scores local options, and our comparison of a New Braunfels IT provider versus a San Antonio one covers the trade-offs of each. Or contact our team with a question.

Send us your headcount, your address, and how many people you add each summer. We’ll line your headcount up against our published plans, flag the point where you cross 12 seats, and tell you how on-site visits work for your part of Comal or Guadalupe County.

Common Questions on New Braunfels IT Pricing

How much does managed IT cost in New Braunfels?

Fully managed IT in New Braunfels runs about $125 to $200 per user each month in 2026, and most offices pay $125 to $175, the San Antonio band in our pricing index. Uprite pricing begins at $91 per user on the remote plan for offices under 12 people and at $138 per user on Fully Managed IT.

Is IT support cheaper in New Braunfels than in San Antonio?

Not on the rate. New Braunfels sits in the San Antonio-New Braunfels metro, so providers hire from the same labor pool and price from the same wages. The difference is distance, since downtown New Braunfels is about 37 free-flow minutes from our San Antonio office, which raises the cost of each visit.

Does the $110 IT Pro plan apply to a New Braunfels business?

It depends on the address. IT Pro is a remote plan for teams of 12 or more outside the Houston and San Antonio areas, and New Braunfels is part of the San Antonio metro, so eligibility is confirmed on the quote. Offices that need on-site work usually belong on Fully Managed IT from $138.

How do seasonal employees affect a per-user IT bill?

Each seasonal hire with a login usually counts as a billable seat while active. Private employment in Comal County rose 7.1% from January to July 2025, so ask how fast seats come off, whether a minimum applies, and whether summer staff can sit on a lighter plan or a shared account.

Do IT providers charge for travel to Canyon Lake or Seguin?

Some do. Others fold travel into the monthly fee, so get it in writing. Canyon Lake is about 52 free-flow minutes from our San Antonio office and Seguin about 53. Fully Managed IT at Uprite covers on-site infrastructure work, and either remote plan can have on-site visits added.

Does the per-user price include Microsoft 365?

No. At Uprite every published rate is a starting price, and licenses appear as their own line. The Microsoft list price for Business Premium is $22 per user per month on an annual plan, and Business Basic is $7, which some companies use for seasonal staff who only need email and Teams.

When does hiring in-house IT beat managed IT in New Braunfels?

Rarely below about 50 users. A San Antonio-area help desk specialist costs about $86,465 a year once benefits and payroll taxes are added, the same as Fully Managed IT for 52 users at $138, and one person still cannot cover nights, vacations, and security at once.
