Uprite vs Miles IT comes down to where your technicians sit. Miles IT is a founder-owned, remote-first national MSP based in New Jersey, with 500+ IT staff and a 50-second average phone answer. Uprite runs managed IT from an office on Radium Street in San Antonio, publishes its prices, and works only in Texas.
Both are reasonable choices for a San Antonio business, and both have strong review records, so the real decision is about coverage, contract style and how much of your support you expect to happen in person. This comparison uses what each company publishes on its own website, what Google Maps and Clutch showed on October 22, 2026, and public data from CISA and the Texas Attorney General that shows what local breaches look like. If you’re still building a shortlist, our overview of managed IT services in San Antonio explains what a full plan should include.
We are Uprite, so treat this as a vendor’s comparison. We have tried to give Miles IT a fair hearing. There is a whole section on when it is the better pick. Read that one closely.

Who Miles IT is, by its own account
Chris Miles started Miles IT in 1997. The company says it has kept the same leadership ever since, with no buyouts, mergers or changes in direction. Its About page goes further. It states that Miles IT is privately held by Chris Miles and family trusts, that succession planning is in place, and that it has no intention of selling the company. That’s worth noticing. If you’ve lived through an MSP acquisition before, that’s a promise worth having in writing.
Miles IT describes itself as remote-first, not remote-only. The split is clear. By its own count, 95% of its work is done remotely, and staff go onsite when the job calls for it from what it calls hundreds of deployment locations. It lists a team of more than 500 IT professionals and says it hires 1 out of every 100 applicants. That is a big bench.
Managed IT is only part of the business. Custom software, web development, digital marketing, cloud resale, hardware procurement and Miles IT’s own Striven ERP platform are all sold by the same company, and the About page describes the company as 4 core services, technology consulting, IT, software and marketing. The managed IT offer itself is the Miles Assurance Plan, which bundles a 24/7 help desk, unlimited remote and onsite support, security tools and a 24/7 SOC team on a month-to-month basis.
Does Miles IT have a San Antonio office?
Not one that it lists. Miles IT publishes a 2026 guide to the best managed IT services in San Antonio, ranks itself first, and in the first line of its own entry calls itself a San Antonio IT services provider. That claim deserves a check. The same guide lists Uprite at number 4, which we appreciate, although its figure of 36 people is out of date. We have 42.
The locations page tells a different story. On October 22, 2026, it showed 10 featured locations and 43 more offices and service regions. Texas shows up 5 times. Fort Worth links to its own page, which gives a street address at 841 Woodridge Dr. Dallas, El Paso, Houston and Laredo appear as service regions with phone numbers and no address. San Antonio is missing.
We also searched Google Maps for Miles IT around San Antonio that day, using 2 different search phrases. No profile came back. Its Fort Worth office does have a profile, with 5.0 stars from 44 reviews. All 44 are 5-star.
None of that means Miles IT can’t support a San Antonio company. Remote work runs the same from anywhere as it does from Radium Street, and the company says it sends people onsite when needed. It does mean you should ask a plain question before you sign. Who drives to your office when the firewall fails, where does that person start the day, and are they a Miles IT employee or someone from the worldwide partner network its About page describes? Get it in writing.
What Miles IT reviews say
Miles IT has a large review record. Its main Google profile, in Lumberton Township, New Jersey, showed 4.9 stars from 721 reviews on October 22, 2026. That is a strong record. Of those, 697 are 5-star and 11 are 1-star.
We read the 120 newest reviews, posted between December 2025 and October 2026, and 119 of them gave 5 stars, so the recent record is even cleaner than the strong lifetime average already suggests. Speed came up more than anything else, in 33 of the 105 reviews that included text. Friendly, patient staff came next, then technical knowledge. Clutch’s summary of the Miles IT reviews on its site says clients value the quick connection to a real person. That fits the 50-second claim.
The complaints are rare. They also cluster. The lowest-rated reviews mention quotes that changed after they were agreed, projects that were slow to move forward and expensive, an offboarding where admin passwords were not handed over cleanly, and uneven quality from one team member to the next. One 2-star review is about billing for Striven, Miles IT’s ERP software, so the profile mixes product feedback with service feedback. A 4-star reviewer simply asked for fewer survey emails.
On Clutch, Miles IT holds 5.0 stars across 15 reviews. Most reviews shown are software work. The listed rate is $100 to $149 an hour.
Uprite’s reviews, counted the same way
Our San Antonio profile at 11831 Radium St showed 4.9 stars from 43 reviews on the same day. Of those, 42 are 5-star. The single 1-star review describes an estate sale, not IT work. Our Houston profile sits at 4.8 from 62, Southeast Houston at 4.3 from 12, and our DFW profile has no reviews yet, which matters if you are comparing us for a Dallas or Fort Worth office instead of San Antonio.
Ours is much smaller. What stands out in the San Antonio reviews is who gets named. Of the 41 reviews with text, 19 thank a specific technician, and 10 mention years of service, several of them 10 years or more. Miles IT’s reviews mostly praise the speed of the line. Ours mostly name the person who did the work. Both signals matter.
Where Miles IT is the better choice
There are real cases where we’d point you to Miles IT. Here are the ones we see most.
- You run offices in several states or overseas. Miles IT lists locations from California to Massachusetts, plus an office in Dublin, Ireland. Uprite works only in Texas, so a Colorado branch would sit outside our coverage.
- You want a response promise in the contract. Miles IT guarantees a response in under 1 hour and publishes a 50.15-second average for a live technician to answer the phone. Our 5-minute figure is an average, not a contractual promise.
- Month-to-month matters more to you than a locked rate. The Miles Assurance Plan has no long-term contract. Ask how much notice it needs.
- One vendor for IT, custom software and marketing would save you real management time.
- You want a dollar figure behind incident labor. The $1 million guarantee is a published dollar figure, so read its conditions first.
- A large rollout needs more hands than a 42-person company can spare in one week.
If 2 or more of those describe you, Miles IT deserves a serious look. We mean that.
What a 50-second answer covers
The 50.15-second figure is real, and it is impressive. It measures how long a live technician takes to pick up the phone for a support request. That is all it measures. The guarantee behind it is a response within 1 hour. Our 5-minute number is an average first response across all priority levels, and it is not an SLA. On published phone figures, Miles IT is faster. We won’t argue that.
What neither number tells you is how long it’ll take someone to stand in your office. Usually, it does not matter. Patching is a good example. CISA added 270 entries to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog between January 1 and October 21, 2026, 40 of them in Microsoft products, and nearly all of that patching happens remotely at any provider. Password resets, mailbox trouble, VPN problems and most security alerts are remote work as well, which is why a remote-first model like Miles IT’s works for the majority of everyday tickets.
The tickets that need a person are the ones that wreck a day. A failed firewall. A dead closet switch. A new hire’s desk. A server stuck at boot. For those, the question becomes distance and who owns the dispatch, and our Fully Managed IT plan includes onsite support from our Radium Street office on the north side of San Antonio. Miles IT’s nearest published Texas office is in Fort Worth.
We cover which problems truly need a technician in our guide to onsite vs remote IT support in San Antonio, and our San Antonio response time benchmarks explain how to read any provider’s speed claims.

The $1 million guarantee and Texas’s 30-day clock
Miles IT’s homepage advertises a $1 million security guarantee. Its San Antonio guide calls it the MAP Security Guarantee, worth up to $1 million in labor services in the event of a security incident. The pages we read do not publish the conditions. Ask for them. Labor is one cost of a breach. Texas adds a deadline.
The Texas Attorney General requires any business whose breach affects 250 or more Texans to report it to the AG as soon as practicably possible, and no later than 30 days after discovery, and to notify the affected consumers as well. Those reports are public. We pulled the full data security breach report list on October 22, 2026, and it held 666 filings published between April 1, 2025 and October 20, 2026.
Of those, 25 came from organizations in San Antonio, Floresville, Converse and New Braunfels. Together they reported 326,800 affected Texans, although Frost Bank alone accounted for 191,848. The median filing covered 3,000 people. Medical providers filed 9. Dental practices filed 5 of those, and 4 of the dental filings were posted on the same day, July 28, 2026. The list also includes 2 school districts and at least 2 law offices.
That looks a lot like the firms choosing between a national MSP and a local one. Small offices. Regulated data. A 30-day clock. Whoever you hire, ask who runs the forensic work, who rebuilds the breach dates the AG form asks for, and whether any guarantee pays for that time. Our cybersecurity services in San Antonio page shows how we handle response, and dental offices can start with our dental IT support guide for San Antonio.
Published rates against a plan you have to quote
Miles IT does not publish what the Miles Assurance Plan costs. Its About page says pricing is agreed before work starts and that you are billed only the amount you approve, a promise aimed at the hourly billing it says most of the industry still uses. That is a fair model. It also means you can’t compare it with anyone until after a sales call.
Ours are public. Our pricing page lists Fully Managed IT starting at $138 per user per month with onsite infrastructure management included, which is the plan for San Antonio offices that want a technician at the door. Co-Managed IT starts at $100, and IT Essentials starts at $91 for remote-only teams under 12 people with business-hours support capped at 8 hours per user per month. Licensing is extra. Our $110 IT Pro plan is remote-only and sold to teams outside Houston and San Antonio, so it isn’t the plan we’d quote a San Antonio office.
Your first-year rate is locked. If you are not satisfied within 120 days, you can get out of the contract. If Miles IT quotes you less for the same scope, compare the 2 proposals line by line and take the better deal, because a lower quote that covers the same users, devices and onsite hours is simply a better price. How to choose between Uprite and Miles IT
Run these 6 checks with both companies, in this order.
- Map where your people work. If most of them sit in San Antonio and along the I-35 corridor, a local bench counts for more than a national one. If they are spread across states, Miles IT’s footprint fits better.
- Ask each provider who comes onsite, where that person starts from, and how fast they usually arrive.
- Get the full monthly price for your user count in writing, including licensing.
- Read the exit terms side by side, month-to-month on one side and a 120-day exit with a rate lock on the other.
- Request the incident and security guarantee terms as a document, not a sales slide.
- Call 2 references in your industry, and ask what happened the last time something broke.
The answers usually decide it.

Price My San Antonio OfficeQuestions San Antonio buyers ask about Miles IT
Is Uprite a good alternative to Miles IT in San Antonio?
For a business with most of its people in San Antonio, yes. Uprite runs managed IT from an office on Radium Street, publishes per-user starting prices from $40 to $138, and offers a 120-day exit. Miles IT is the stronger fit for companies with offices in several states or overseas.
Does Miles IT have an office in San Antonio?
Not one it lists. On October 22, 2026, the Miles IT locations page showed a Fort Worth office at 841 Woodridge Dr and Texas service regions for Dallas, El Paso, Houston and Laredo, with no San Antonio entry. Google Maps showed no San Antonio profile for Miles IT that day.
What do Miles IT reviews say?
Mostly that the team is fast. The main Google profile showed 4.9 stars from 721 reviews on October 22, 2026, and speed was the most common theme in recent reviews. The rare complaints mention changed quotes, slow projects and an untidy offboarding. Clutch shows 5.0 from 15 reviews, mostly software work.
How much does Miles IT cost?
Miles IT does not publish a price for its Miles Assurance Plan, so you need a quote. Uprite publishes its rates. Fully Managed IT starts at $138 per user per month with onsite support, Co-Managed IT at $100, and IT Essentials at $91 for remote-only teams under 12 people.
Is Miles IT faster to respond than Uprite?
By the published figures, yes. Miles IT reports a 50.15-second average for a live technician to answer and guarantees a response within 1 hour. Uprite reports a 5-minute average first response, which is an average and not a contractual promise. Neither figure measures how fast someone reaches your office.
What is the Miles IT $1 million security guarantee?
Miles IT calls it the MAP Security Guarantee, worth up to $1 million in labor services in the event of a security incident, and MAP is its Miles Assurance Plan. The conditions are not published on the pages we reviewed in October 2026, so ask for the written terms before you count on that coverage.
Can I leave Uprite if it does not work out?
Yes. If you are not satisfied within 120 days, you can get out of your Uprite contract, and your rate cannot rise during the first year. Miles IT takes a different route, with a month-to-month plan and no long-term contract. Both approaches limit how long you stay stuck with a poor fit.
